The Oct28 Spooky Diamond Quest puts Kerry Wood, Sammy Sosa, and Bo Bichette into a short Oct26-30 budgeting window in MLB The Show 26. Set a target and fund your plan with MLB The Show 26 Stubs before opening any packs.

Set the Spooky Program budget before spending

Budgeting the Oct28 Diamond Quest starts with the stubs you can freely spend after planned Spooky Program progress is covered. Record your full balance, then mark anything reserved for tasks or expected rewards. The remaining amount is your usable budget for program packs, direct card purchases, and a reserve. Check the rewards available through the Oct26-30 program before buying anything, because a reward may cover a card you were preparing to purchase. That changes the amount you need and prevents a reward from becoming an excuse for extra pack spending.

1) Record your current stub balance, then mark the amount reserved for Spooky Program tasks before assigning funds to packs.

2) List no-cost program rewards first, checking whether they cover any planned Kerry Wood, Sammy Sosa, or Bo Bichette target.

3) Rank each card as a starter, bench upgrade, or collection piece, then give lower priorities smaller spending limits.

Give packs and cards separate spending limits

Pack spending and direct purchases need separate caps because the three Diamond Quest cards fill different roster needs. Set a fixed pack ceiling for the Oct26-30 window, plus a direct-buy limit for each card. Review the odds shown in the pack screen before every batch and compare the planned pack cost with the card's current market price. If the direct price is below the amount you're prepared to spend chasing that card, the direct route makes more sense. Keep a third bucket untouched so weak pack results don't consume funds needed for event progress.

● Kerry Wood deserves a higher limit when your rotation lacks depth, but a settled rotation makes him a lower-priority purchase.

● Sammy Sosa gains value when an outfield or power-bat slot is open; a crowded outfield lowers his spending limit.

● Bo Bichette fits infield depth, so check locked starters and bench space before treating his card as a needed upgrade.

Reality check: A pack cap is a spending limit, not a promise that any Diamond Quest card will appear.

Control risk during the short event window

The main risk is allowing one exciting pack batch to consume funds planned for the final Spooky Program rewards. Set a daily ceiling from Oct26 through Oct30 and stop a batch when it reaches that ceiling or produces no useful roster, collection, or target-card progress. Check duplicate protection before opening packs, since duplicates can lower the value of a purchase. Recheck your balance, card ownership, and remaining tasks after each batch. Limit the event plan to two target cards, keeping the third on a watch list until the first two are secured within budget.

● Keep program tasks, pack spending, and market purchases in separate notes so each cost remains visible.

● Move a replaced card's unused budget into the reserve only after the matching program reward is claimed.

● Save a gap fund for Oct30, when you can price one missing card before making any last purchase.

Use the final-day ledger before buying

On the final day, claim every available Spooky Program reward, count liquid stubs, and price the remaining target before spending. Use only the gap fund for a missing Kerry Wood, Sammy Sosa, or Bo Bichette card, then record pack costs, direct purchases, and acquired cards. Build the next Diamond Quest budget from that ending balance. When extra funds are needed, review MLB The Show 26 Stubs for sale after checking your remaining balance.
